Dr. Steve Delamarter is Emeritus Professor of Old Testament at Portland Seminary (Oregon, USA), Director of the Ethiopic Manuscript Imaging Project (with around 12,000 items digitized), founding chair of the Society of Biblical Literature's Section on the Ethiopic Bible and Literature, Project Co-Director (with Demeke Berhane) in the British Library Endangered Archives Programme project (#286) in the Manuscripts and Archives Department of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Ethiopic Area Editor for the Brill volumes (edited by Armin Lange and Emanuel Tov) on the Textual History of the Bible (THB), and Project Co-Director of the Textual History of the Ethiopic Old Testament (THEOT) Project which was funded (2020-2023) by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Delamarter has been to Ethiopia more than a dozen times and serves as an international advisor on the Authority for Research and Conservation of the Cultural Heritage, headed by Alula Pankhurst.

On PEMM, Delamarter worked with Jeremy Brown using principles of Ethiopic paleography and codicology to establish the dating of over 500 manuscripts. He provided location for all EMML and digitized a lot of TM that PEMM uses.
